Add Your Small Business to the Google Local Business Center

Posted on 06. Nov, 2009 by Tracy Sigler in SEO, Small Business Tools

Follow these steps to add your company to the Google Local Business Center. Make sure potential customers are able to find you business. I will take you through the entire process in this short video and I also point out a couple things that have caused problems for us in the past. For small businesses operating in a local area, as opposed to only online, it’s critical that your company show up in the Local results, which are usually at the top on search engine results pages.

There are some additional steps to take that will help make sure your company appears in the first set of Local listings, but we’ll cover those in a later video.

If you have any questions or trouble with this process just email or call and we’ll help you get it sorted out. No cost for that, we just want to help.

Gallery Minerva – Small Business Brief #4

Posted on 03. Nov, 2009 by Tracy Sigler in Small Business Briefs

So many paintings I want to bring home! This small business (and any art gallery)  is made for modern marketing. They have tons items that will do well in photography and videos that can be distributed through the growing number of social media channels.

One site I think would be fun to experiment with is DailyBooth.com where people upload photos. It’s similar to a photography-based Twitter, and it’s new enough that you can likely carve out a niche just by showing up and sharing what you have to show off.

For the real thing visit Gallery Minerva’s Asheville fine art gallery.

Stay tuned for the “b-roll” at the end.

Carolina Native Nursery – Small Business Brief #1

Posted on 23. Oct, 2009 by Tracy Sigler in Small Business Briefs

I was at an open house event today for Carolina Native Nursery. I’ll have to follow-up with my pals, and company owners, Jill and Bill Jones to see how effective this was as a marketing tactic. On the way out I decided to ambush Jill to get her elevator pitch about the company. I think this is an interesting niche, and with their experience I’m sure they’re in a great position to surf the overdue green wave.

Check out Carolina Native Nursery for North Carolina native plants.
